The MUSES project is ideally placed having a mix of consultancies, academia and Government bodies providing a strong team with complementary skills from the different types of organisations. The Consortium was formed with partners that ensure we have excellent geographical coverage, understanding and relevant links to key stakeholders in the five sea basins that this project will report (Baltic Sea, North Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea and Eastern Atlantic). Marine Scotland is statutorily responsible for marine planning and all partners have extensive experience of addressing marine planning problems in their area. The partners have a strong record of analysis of technical issues and on effective stakeholder and consensus building in contentious areas of marine management. Partners also have strong records on the delivery of EU projects. The breadth of the consortium will therefore strengthen MUSES ability to fully understand the barriers, how best to reduce risks, improve efficiencies and enhance social acceptance of combining marine activities.
